On this topic I would like to discuss Ninja Assassin, which starts tomorrow…or today for day people.
After work tonight we previewed this film, and to our delight it was rather good. It’s obviously an action movie, the fight scenes alone would make the hearts of action fans flutter. The use of slow motion was inevitable but I feel they used these just enough to not feel overwhelmed and kept in ALOT of speed. They move fast.
The plot moves fast enough. They leave just enough zen to make you wonder if they are just being cheesy or if they have a point. The girl is not a good actress. Really. She has poor line delivery and her sincerity is barely there.
That said the rest of the cringe-worthy lines that are inevitable are deliverd mostly by opposing ninja. There are hardly any as the ninja are, believe it or not, actually quiet. Even their worst lines somehow come out with some believability.
It is gory, it is fast and the action is phenomenal. Go see it if this is what you are looking for… Or if you have an infatuation with shirtless asians.
